ER update
The outcome of our ER visit is that Bella fainted. There was confusion at first since she had symptoms of both fainting and a seizure. The reason Bella fainted is because she was dehydrated and her hemoglobin was extremely low. On Friday night when she was admitted to St. Joes, her labs came back with great results. Her hemoglobin was fine along with the rest of her numbers. St. Joes hydrated her and we were eventually sent over to CHOC. The next morning her labs were drawn again. This time her hemoglobin was extremely low. The reason for the drastic change was that since she was dehydrated the night before, the labs showed a false reading. Her hemoglobin was concentrated therefore showing higher than it truly was. While in the hospital she received a blood transfusion and platelets. This morning she was feeling pretty good but tired. We all had a lazy day to recuperate and went to Newport Beach late in the afternoon to get some fresh air. Bella enjoyed herself but she is still tired. Daddy carried her most of the way. Tonight her temperature started to rise. We have been monitoring it and will need to monitor it through the night. I can't stand the thoughts of having to go to ER again. If her temp stays at 100.5 for 4 consecutive hours than we will have to go to ER. This chemo is so much stronger than the chemo she was taking in the fall. Bella is so weak and frail looking now. Her eyebrows have fallen out (she doesn't know this and we aren't telling her since she already is concerned of her looks already). Her eyelashes have started falling out as well. I hope they all don't go. Her skin is constantly peeling and discolored in places from the accutane. Her nails are discolored from the chemo. Some of her freckles darkened a lot which I am told is from chemo as well. Decision making is quite difficult for her. I am told this is not effect of radiation but from the chemo and everything she is going through. I am being told her head is like a tornado right now and it will hopefully get back to normal when this is all over. So many changes... She is so strong inside though! She loves life and I know she is going to kick cancers butt! Thank you all for your continued prayers, love and support!!
