Bella NEGU....Do you?

Write by Val:
We had a long clinic appointment today! Bella is doing pretty good. Her numbers are still too low but they are climbing. They need to be high enough for her to start her chemo next Tuesday. A platelet transfusion may be in Bella's future as well. It appears her platelets were low again from Monday so we will see what today's numbers look like. Dr. Shen was a bit concerned about Bella's weight. Her weight is just too low. They want us to meet with a Nutritionist again on Monday. She was 51 lbs. Last Monday she was 53 lbs. Back in December she was 56 lbs. With her weight being so low, the effects of chemo can hit her much harder. Plus she never eats during the actual chemo treatment. we have been ordered to fatten her up once again. Bella is a hard person to fatten up because she loves her fruits and veggies. Lately she has been obsessed with Mimi's Cafe - French Onion soup. Today she is eating Chicken Alfredo. Some great news from clinic today was that her ANC level was past 1000, therefore no more shots for a week or two. :) When her ANC is too low, I have to give her the horrible shots at home. She has received shots everyday since January 1. Finally a break!! :) Bella is starting to complain about leg aches and knee aches. I think her legs are starting to ache because of the little exercise she is getting. We are going to work on a little exercise everyday to keep her muscles moving. Thanks for all the prayers and support!! More to come soon!
