Make a Wish

Howdy folks. We're checked in and waiting to go for an MRI this a afternoon. After her Dr. reviews the MRI, we'll know  something about what treatment happens first, for how long, how frequent.  We'll continue to Facebook updates and reserve the blog for long detailed updates like this one.

Many of you have been so kind to inquire about our interests with Make AWish.  I am very familiar with the organization and what it offers and for when. Thanks so much for wanting to help us teach out to these services.

However, I have always viewed MAW to be saved for terminally ill kids and wish to reserve MAW for that. We're not loosing Bella!  As things develop, we may change our mind but I fear that we're only at the beginning of a long but winning battle.

Again, thank you so much. We're so humbled by the many generous offers.  Our Lord's and your love will be plenty to carry us for now.

With very overwhelmed gratitude,
Sam

  1. I was a volunteer wish-granter with Make-A-Wish for years and I think it's natural for people to want to bring it up, although I had certainly planned to hold-of mention for some time. With that said, I would point out that MAW changed it's mission statement years ago from the words "terminal" to "life-threatening." I saw many wishes granted to children who have gone on to live beautiful and wonderful lives! They were simply a bright spot in an otherwise very difficult process. With that said, choosing to have a wish granted is a very important decision and one that must be made on the family's timeframe. Bella is surrounded by the power of prayer and the love of family and friends... No one is talking terminal!
